Justin WilsonJustin Wilson enters the 2007 season after three successful years in the Champ Car World Series that included 35 top-ten starts, 29 top-ten finishes, four poles and three victories. His consistency on the track makes him a fierce competitor, earning second place in the Champ Car World Series Driver’s Championship race in 2006. The 28 year-old’s season also included impressive front-row starts in Long Beach, Monterrey, Toronto and Mexico City, along with seven inspiring podium finishes.
Those results have allowed Justin to continue to build an impressive resume that includes stints in Formula One, where he captured those first elusive World Championship points in just his first year and the FIA International Formula 3000 Series, where he holds the distinguishing accolade of being the first British driver ever to win the Championship. As a proven winner, Wilson’s resume includes a historical run in the Formula Palmer Audi Championship. On the way to capturing the title in 1998, Justin broke the records for most points in a season and most podiums collected.
2006 proved to be a demanding year for the RuSPORT team but Justin overcame many obstacles and an end-of-season broken wrist to capture seven podium finishes, two Bridgestone Pole Awards in Toronto and Mexico City and a noteworthy second place finish in Mexico City while recovering from his wrist injury he sustained in Surfers Paradise. In the end, Justin was able to drive his way to a second place in the Champ Car World Series final driver standings and win the 2006 Greg Moore Legacy Award.
